Air Consumption

The table below shows the required amount of air, in cubic feet per minute (CFM) for the Bulroc range of Hyper hammers to maintain the specific operating pressures, in pounds per square inches (PSI). These figures assume that where applicable a solid choke is installed in the hammer.

All figures in cubic feet per minute (CFM)
Hammer Type 100psi 150psi 200psi 250psi 300psi
Hyper 31 52 96 148 206 271
Hyper 41 82 151 232 325 427
Hyper 51 103 188 290 406 534
Hyper 61 179 329 506 708 930
Hyper 81 261 479 738 1031 1355
Hyper 121 591 1087 1673 2339
Hyper 181 1098 2017 3105
Hyper 241 2188 4021

When extra flushing air is required the choke can be drilled to create a flow of live air through the hammer. The size of the flushing hole will determine how much extra air is required by the hammer to maintain the specific operating pressures. The table below shows the amount of air that will pass through different sizes of flushing holes. These figures must be added to the figure in the above table to give a total required CFM.

All figures in cubic feet per minute (CFM)
Hole Size 100psi 150psi 200psi 250psi
6 mm 68 98 128 157
10 mm 82 151 232 325
13 mm 103 188 290 406
16 mm 179 329 506 708
19 mm 261 479 738 1031

Example- The table below shows the required CFM for the Hyper 121 with the various chokes fitted
